A manufacturing plant is more than a large shed with machines placed inside it. Process flow, material movement, utility routing, and future expansion all need to be considered together before the first column goes up, and getting this wrong usually means expensive modifications a few years down the line. Our process starts with understanding the client's production line layout, since column placement and clear span requirements are driven directly by how machines, conveyors, and material handling equipment need to move through the space. A plant with overhead cranes has very different structural demands from one relying purely on floor-level material handling, and we design around whichever applies.

Structural steel for these plants is fabricated to tight tolerances, since manufacturing equipment often needs to be aligned precisely, and any inconsistency in column placement or floor levelness can create problems during equipment installation. We coordinate closely with the client's machinery vendors where needed to make sure the building actually accommodates the equipment it is meant to house.

We have built manufacturing plants for clients in auto components, plastics processing, and general engineering, each with different requirements around ventilation, dust control, and utility access. Some plants need extensive exhaust systems built into the roof design, others need underground utility trenches planned before the floor is cast.
